Right now I should be writing a story for the spring issue of Holiday with Matthew Mead (you can check his website to hear more about that next week). But as I sit here admiring my Christmas lights and tree I just have to take a teensy break and share my holiday decorations. This serves a two-fold purpose: it is my version of inviting you all in for a virtual cup of tea, and it allows me to look back next year and remind myself what I put where and if it looked good or not.
So here goes a quick tour:
A little village scene in my bathroom:
My holiday mantel (which I just noticed was on this website today):
A little close up of the details:
My holiday tree:
Simple wrapping paper adhered to my glass cabinet doors (to hide all of the Christmas clutter!):
My little kitchen tree, which I put up last night at midnight! I felt like I had better incorporate some coloured lights for my eldest son who loves coloured lights!
Some adorable little deer and toadstools that I purchased here:
Now....back to work for me!
(You can see my outdoor decorations here)

oh how lovely - so calm & serene & peaceful! well well done - the difference is in the DETAILS!

ReplyDeleteLooks lovely, Linda! and there is that lampshade I love! All the best to you, Paul and the kids this holiday season - Nancy LeB
ReplyDeleteWhere did you ever find the ribbon with text that swags the tree? I am a sucker for anything with text!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks lovely as always. Your mantel is really a showstopper and looks great over on BHG. Now back to work for you so you can finish your writing before Christmas and really relax over the holidays.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your family. I've enjoyed seeing all the writing and projects you have done throughout the year - what wonderful opportunities there have been for you. May there be even more in 2012.
I never really thought about purposefully designing my Christmas tree. Your are great!

Hi! The way you have displayed the greetings card with the typewriter is ingenious! I also love the little tree in the galvanised bucket. You have great taste. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2012.
